One man’s journey to heaven: the Bath Abbey Diptychs.
Review:
This book, lent to me by Ann Christie, is not available from Auckland Libraries. Sue Symons designed and made 35 pairs of A3 sized diptychs which depict the life of Christ. One of each pair is embroidered. The book is called, One man’s journey to heaven: the Bath Abbey Diptychs. Although Bath Abbey has a lovely website, it doesn’t do justice to Sue’s labour of love. I suggest Googling ‘Bath Diptychs’, then click on ‘Images’ and you will get some idea of these gorgeous works of art.
